Lots of Hollywood start appeared on romance covers during the late 40s and 50s. Many of them were noted on the cover, but from time to time I see romance covers featuring generic models that look eerily like people who would go on to achieve fame. I was flipping through an old issue of Comic Book Marketplace, and read a great article by Michelle Nolan about the indica confusion in the final two issues of Ace's Love Experiences. The article featured the cover to Love Experiences #38, and I was taken aback by the male actor. By my math, Nicholson would have been 19 years old in 1956 and just getting his start in Hollywood (I think he has at least two credits in that year) so its plausible that he was doing this type of modelling work as well. The model looks older than 19, and I haven't seen anything of Nicholson from that year, but my guy reaction is that it is him. What do you think? Tuesday, November 03, 2009
Is This Jack Nicholson?

Jack Nicholson looks a LOT younger than this in 1963's The Raven. Much firmer jaw, stronger chin, fewer forehead wrinkles, etc. I'm gonna say not him.
That's what I was thinking - it looks more like a late 60s Nicholson (the pre-Botox forehead wrinkles). IMDB has a few stills from 1958's Cry Baby Killer, and while he doesn't look 19 there either, he looks younger than this fellow. Still, this guy is eerily similar.
It doesn't look like him at all to me. I've seen The Raven and Little Shope Of Horrors, and he looked quite a bit different in those.
Not Jack, but the other person looks like Debbie Reynolds.
Definitely not Nicholson; Jack has detached earlobes, this cover model doesn't.
So, what you guys are telling is to stop reading articles about Romance comics late at night.
Everyone beat me to the punch but Jack's role in The Raven is hilarious considering his image today.
I don't know how old he is but he is certainly too old for her.
Oh, and no, that is not Jack Nicholson.
Not Nicholson, just based on his youthful appearance in the 1968 Monkees movie, Head.
This guy looks pretty old to me. I don't see any resemblance to Nicholson but I agree the girl looks like Debbie Reynolds.
